I’m very excited to share my new and improved website, and to return to posting here. You may notice that I haven’t posted in quite a while. Like everyone else who has been on the roller coaster that was the covid pandemic, my life focus and priorities definitely shifted starting in 2020. Performing live took a back seat (by necessity) to writing. I’ve also had other responsibilities which have taken a considerable amount of time and energy.

I definitely need a creative outlet to maintain my sanity, and for the past few years, that’s been writing. I’ve done writing for an online music teaching site and a local arts magazine, I’ve written poems and songs, and last year I finished the first draft of a full length musical! (I’ll share more about that soon.) I’ve also written essays and letters relating to politics, as sort of an outgrowth of my folk music. Writing helps me process ideas and emotions, and also is a way to (hopefully) make a small difference in the world.

I do plan to continue performing, recording, and teaching. I’ll be at Terroir Creative Writing Festival on April 13 (registration link is on my Live page) doing a workshop on songwriting, so please check it out, and come back here for more news about my projects!
